So.

Qayla Arissa turns 2 mths today! Photo taken on her first bus ride.

From a lil bub weighing only 2.54kg, she has steadily grown to about 4.5kg now. Just look at her cheeks! She is very responsive already, cooing and gurgling when someone talks to her, and I can practically see her face light up when I respond to her gurgles. She is indeed becoming smarter now (just like the Ibu I presume? Hehs.)

I have friends asking, how has motherhood been so far? Well, let's be honest and cut the 'oh its so amazing and I've never been so happy' part. Being responsible for another human life isn't easy at all. I have to make sure that she's well-fed, well groomed, and well taken care of in general. That includes having to wake 3 hourly at night sacrificing nice,nice sleep to make sure her tummy is full with milky nutrients. And then there's the countless nappy changes, colicky stomachs, regurgitating and, well, just the lil cries for attention. My whole life has changed as all my actions now revolves around her.

And here comes the amazing part. Amidst all that, there is a fluttery feeling deep inside whenever I see her smile, and when she cries, I will feel like crying too. We definitely have this bond between us that's indescribable in words. It's like I just want to give up my whole life for her if ever she needs it.

To summarise everything, motherhood indeed requires sacrifice, but at the end of the day, the satisfaction is just amazing ...

Qayla Arissa's arrival was celebrated with a traditional baby shower ceremony cum feast for close kins and relatives on her 44th day. It was indeed a joyous and touching moment for Hubby and I.

May this beginning of her life journey be the opening path for a blissful life ahead for this love of our life.

The Hubz told me there was a surprise for me on the 24th. I prodded and prodded him to tell me what it is, but he wouldn't budge. So, on that day itself..

I was brought to one of the gal's place, on the pretext that Hubz needed to get babystuffs from a friend. The 'friend' turn out to be my Swiss babes, who planned a babyshower for the two of us with babies and for me who's expecting. And yes, I was surprised till my jaw dropped!

The two cuties with their mothers, having baby talk. Hanindah Aulia is 6 mths now, and Md Fadhil is 3 mths. We were cooing and aah-ing over them all the while, tho Hani was a bit cranky that day.

The spread that was prepared by the girls themselves. Impressive!

And when all the ten of us are present, they served the beautiful and delicious choc truffle cake, complete with booties, horse rocker, pacifier and rattle candles!

And them who planned the whole thing, and the ten of us who have been together since secondary school, abt 14 years back. Still in touch nonetheless.

There was a little gift-giving ceremony after that for the 3 of us, but the one that touched me most is this one which Mardiana made for us individually..

So the gals have requested that I show this to my lil girl when she's grown up in the later years, so this is gonna be one keepsake.

That day was indeed a day to remember for all of us...

The first reason to a great April -

Yup! That's the Hubby driving - he has passed his driving at one test! Alhamdulillah.. and he couldn't help gushing to me how surreal it felt to be driving.

The 2nd reason -

Yours truly turned a year older. No longer a 2-6, but a 2-7 now indeed makes me feel old. But, like what some ppl say, it is but only numerals ryte? ;)

As of today, I'm at 31 weeks. Fast or what??

Thanks to the ticker countdown timer I applied on this blog, mainly for myself, to track how far along I am into my pregnancy. Like the time I did when I was nearing my wedding too. But I had that removed, coz hey, I've already reached that event! Ditto should I give birth in approximately 9 weeks, insyaallah.

See, a ticker countdown timer is a device to countdown to a major event that's gonna happen in your life. But nowadays, I'm seeing ppl putting tickers to everything, its so stifling. Like, how many years or mths or days u have fallen in love..blah blah. Even to have it for counting down since marriage is, I think, pointless, as I believe marriage is not something to countdown upon, but to look forward and to move on a journey.

But then again, this is just a random piece of my thought.

Day out with the ging has never been short of laughter and fun! This time its to celebrate our Abg Azri's 33rd in their new abode.

The movie was worth waiting for its release.. full of colour and the characters are all lively.. the works expected from Tim Burton. And most of all, it brings back memories of the time I acted in the same play during my primary school days, tho the character I played isn't featured in the movie coz, well, the character has been beheaded by the Queen of Hearts as she was 'afraid he would leave her.' (Read - the King of Hearts) Lol!

And oh, I've entered the 3rd trimester now... ;)

Remember this?

Snacks from the yesteryears, goodies that were all the rage when I was a lil kid.

When I was asked to go to the grocery store down the block, I will always get little tips, and these are just some of the goodies that I will indulge myself in.

And then who can forget the Kaka, Ding Dang and Push Pops?

My childhood was indeed a memorable part of my life, and I can proudly say that it was a beautiful one. Where I had no worries and life was simply a wonderland. Where I would immerse myself in the tons of Enid Blyton books, and my collection of stickers was an envy to friends. Shiny, furry, pop-up - u name it, I have it in my collection of 3 books. Trips to 7-11 meant each of my siblings get to have a Slurpee or a Mr Softie each. It's also when I got to taste a mini life of glamour in the entertainment industry then, thanks to my parents who developed my talents, and my glib tongue managed to win me trophies in various speaking competitions in school.

As a mother to-be, I'm hoping that I can give my future baby this kind of childhood, one that he/she will relish in future.

Just like I did.

Ok, so I'm onto the next random thing.

The lil one turns 24 weeks today. Yay! Which means, I'm only a month away till my third trimester. Is that fast or what! I'm experiencing some of the stuff the books and magazines says I will during this stage, and of course many changes physically, but its all nothing major, alhamdulillah. The amazing part is to be able to feel the lil one move and kick already! Quite the active one in there... And having my weight increasing bit by bit is great too as I've been told I look too thin for a pregnant woman. And yes, I am eating a fair bit, and regularly too - can't stop munching and chewing. I like!

First movie I caught for 2010. No eyecandy, just pure interesting plot and great cast.

I know Meryl Streep will never disappoint. She was fantastic. So was Alec Baldwin. The theatre was full of laughter throughout the whole movie. And I will never look at laptops the same way again!

It's that time of the year again - the time to reminisce the passing year, what we have done and what we have gone through.

2009 was indeed a special year for me, though not everything has been a bed of roses. Jobs were lost and found in the recession, relationships were broken and made, and love is constantly tested.

Nevertheless,

Relations and friends binds closer.

Best friends always there for each other.

Old ones never forgotten.

People with same love to travel and explore.

And of course, family that is ever so important, close and full of love.

And...

A little one on the way ...

One word for all - Alhamdulillah, all praises for the Mighty One ...

So yeap, the roadtrip!

The highlight of the trip was to savour the fresh (and cheap seafood) at Umbai. Crabs, prawns, fish, cockles, lala - u name it, we ordered it.

The night was spent at Foo's gandma's place at Masjid Tanah. It is a big house with a large clearing outside.

And then it was tyme to go around the city! We took a ride on the Eye on Malaysia, their equivalent of the SIngapore Flyer.

Already they are talking about the next trip. We'll see how that plan goes!

ICA D&D 2009 - Wow Wild West

So I see lots of cowboys and red indians. I was inspired by the saloon girls of the west.

This is also my first D&D with Hubby, after 5 yrs together, so abit excited la kan. ;)

Had super fun, great entertainment by hosts, Class 95's The Flying Dutchman and Justin. Great pyrotechnics, beautiful laser beams presentation. Think its coz we have been awarded the Singapore Quality Award for being a world-class organisation. Hurrah for ICA!

In just a matter of a month...

I saw the lil one moved so freely in what little space it got in there - somersaulting and kicking so freely, I couldn't believe my eyes! The nurse had difficulty taking its heartbeat coz it was so active. Hubby and I were laughing so much at its antics, even the nurse was laughing. After much moving, it settled to this position of sucking its thumb...

I'm ending my first trimester soon. How fast time flies... Even at this small stage, I know that I just have to look at this scan to brighten up my moodless days... I'm relishing every single step of this journey, and I'm thankful to those who have been very supportive..

10 weeks pregnant

Your baby has tiny fingernails now and the ability to kick, swallow, and move. That's quite impressive for someone who's only the size of a lipstick case. That will change soon; within the next few weeks, your featherweight child should double in size. You may notice your clothes getting tighter as your uterus is now almost big enough to fill your pelvis.'

Being a first timer, I'm constantly in awe of what's happening to the lil one inside me. So pardon if my entries are gonna be 'baby-centered'.

Anyhows, I've been buying clothes which are a tad bigger to accomodate my now diminishing waist line. Jeans are somehow uncomfortable for me now, and I'm constantly searching for lightweight cotton stuff in my wardrobe to wear. Soon enough, I won't be able to fit into my work pants already!

Still, I'm really hoping that road trip will happen!

Movie date with Hubby after eons.

First time watch 3D movie, so a bit jakun with the special glasses. Totally didn't register in my mind to wear contacts, so I had to wear the special glasses on top of my own. Luckily it was dark, so only Hubby saw how silly I looked. =P

It was colourful, and Coraline's character was easy to fall in love with with her blue hair and big eyes. The plot was something different than usual, but have to agree with Hubby that it could have impressed even without the 3D effects. It's great fun to watch if you're not into gore, violence and disasters. Lest to say, if you're like me lah. ;)

Congratulations to my dear colleague Azliana on the birth of her first child, Sharifah Nurin Syaurah, on 14th Oct via normal delivery.

Afterwhich I spent the day out with Hubby after so long. He entertained my want to walk around the mall despite his aching legs from a soccer game after so long. I have to thank him for reminding me about my shopping needs and wants.

Of late, I have been very dependant on Hubby. Working night shifts is a heavy thing for me as I will not be able to be by his side. Not to mention, the restless feeling I have when he is not around. Despite that, I have been deeply happy with what I'm blessed with. Many decisions to be made, more appointments to attend to, it's gonna be a busy time soon..

I'm experiencing changes. Physically and mentally. And I'm reassured by the books, magazines and the websites that they are all totally normal. My moods can be so unpredictable - one moment I can be so happy, the next, I can feel so down. Hubby has been very supportive so far, though sometimes I feel bad for making him the brunt of my swinging moods. My back aches when I sit on prolonged periods, and I will get super sleepy by late evening.

And I have never ate so healthily in my life before. Milk, fruit juices, carrot sticks, green leafy vegetables, wholemeal breads, and, check this, no coffee, and no green tea. I'm not sure how I will be able to survive that for the next 8 mths or so... The parents, the siblings and siblings in-law, even the great colleagues at work has been so helpful in guiding me through this new phase.

Sure, all these new experiences fazes me for what is about to come, but insyaallah, with prayers and blessings, I will pull this through...

Our first family outdoor iftar. Only because Ibu was too tired to cook from staying up late the previous night. Location of choice - Thai Express Jurong Pt. Great food, reasonable price, excellent service. And coz I have a discount card. =D

It was Ibu's birthday on the 3rd. They surprised her at exactly midnight, but couldn't be there coz was on nite shift. So after buka that day, I presented her with a simple homemade strawberry cheesecake. And everyone sang to her again coz I insisted on singing for her too.

She still looks gorgeous in her 50s... I so wanna grow old like her.

So I dragged the parents to Geylang Serai this early Ramadhan on a weekday to avoid the crowds - our shopping was smooth and hasslefree without having to go through the calafares.

Noting this is the Dad's first trip down after 3 years being overseas, he was being a bit jakun, snapping the scenes with the camera, ala a tourist. Hehe..cutelah.

The lights this year were a bit low key, guess due to the economic downturn.

Shopping for their songkoks was another dilemma for the men. 4 inch, 5 inch, 6inch?? The hubby decided to go 'tall' this year.. ;)

After all that, let's settle for some drinks and delicioso food shall we?

It's a wonderful, wonderful Ramadhan thus far, and hopefully Syawal will be one to remember this year..

My Bali chronicles - 07 Aug-12 Aug 2009.

Witnessed the sunrise in the flight. The greatness of Allah..

And we are here!

First up, change money. But be forewarned, do not go to places that offer high rates as they may take in commissions. Always count your change before leaving the counter. Some of us got conned and only realised it much, much later. Very good modus operandi they have. It's ok, lesson learnt!

It's nice sunny weather in Bali, so always drink up to prevent dehydration. My favourite drink there - Caprisonne fruit juices.

We jetted around Bali in motorbikes - we don't wanna be spoiled tourists by being driven around, so each couple rented a bike for a mere RP40,000 (SGD$6) per day to venture our own way around Kuta.

Do you know, the accident rate here is super low, considering their heavy traffic, because drivers here have a mutual understanding with other road users. This is a far cry from our lil island despite our strict traffic rules!

A must photography spot, the highlight of Bali - surfing! Like real oni eh.

That nite, we dropped by the memorial spot commemorating the bomb blasts in 2002. Most of the victims were Aussies. We were laughing about something totally not related to the memorial, and suddenly this drunk Aussie came up to us and shouted, 'This is no joke, this is fuc**** serious!' Haha...terasa nampak.

To those of you who are afraid to visit Bali 'pasal takut bom', please get that notion off ur head coz hey, death is predestined and u can die even at home if ur tyme is up. Meluat hear ppl say that.

We headed to prolly the most happening nite spot in Kuta, the Engine Room. I was mostly the one taking pix coz I wasn't feeling too well. As you can see, the peeps had much fun! And we were probably the slackest dressed there in our shorts and tank tops, but the waiters there still served us like the rest of the better-dressed clubbers..

Then its down to Apache Reggae Bar for some rasta lovin'. I became a reggae music lover after.

Izzat was invited onstage by the resident band to belt out some rasta tunes.

The morning after, (and the next mornings after), we headed to Kuta beach for some friggin' delicious bakso and nasi volcom.

The jagung manis is yummy!

I took the plunge to braid my hair. Eventho the workplace doesn't allow the hairstyle. But wadaheck, its Bali!

These lil basket of offerings were all over entrances and doors in Bali, sometimes laden with biscuits or rice. A prayer ritual is performed before leaving the offerings. I was awed by this.

The next highlight of our trip - Jimbaran beach for the beautiful sunset and delicious seafood.

It was a nice anniversary spent witnessing sunset on a foreign land with Hubby. Even got me my favourite steamed seabass on the menu!

We checked into Hard Rock Hotel and made use of the facilities there. Suntanned, swam and had a super fun time!

The next highlight was the kechak performance at Uluwatu temple. Here again, we got to witness beautiful sunset. Sarong is a must-wear before entering the temple premises for RP3000 (SGD$0.50).

The performance is really about a princess who was kidnapped by an evil monster, and then rescued by Sang Hanuman, the white monkey. Very intriguing performance indeed!

Chilled by Kuta beach for some sunset, sand and sea, while the guys had a crash course surf lesson. Fuad got his head knocked by the surf board fin till it broke! Lucky it wasn't his head!

We girls shopped till we almosst dropped. And wear same stuff eventhough it wasn't planned! All of us brought probably only 2 sets of clothes change, while the rest is bought there and worn then itself. We really slacked and became 'anak pantai'.

Rest of the time was spent shopping for souvenirs for the loved ones. I recommend this shop at Poppies 2 coz their stuff are dirt cheap! Wanted to take pic with the shop owner but she was too shy.

Not too soon was it time for us to head home. See the reluctant face?

Bali was indeed an experience I wun forget, with great company along with us.

As a child, what values did your parents instill in you?

For me, it was the usual, be humble, be kind, be honest...u know, the usual ones.

But the one which is deeply embedded in us is to stay close and be with each other no matter what.

Ibu never tires telling the then 3 of us to stay close no matter how much we argue or we quarrel. She even quoted an example of relatives whose siblings have stayed close and united all the while. She will keep telling us the ever famous proverb - 'Air dicincang, tak akan putus', which means sibling ties will never break no matter how much u try to.

So we brought it on in us since we were little.

I was once bullied in primary school by an upper pri level student. Little did this bully know that I had an elder sister in the school. All I had to do was tell the elder sis about it, and you know what she did next? She confronted the bugger and even slapped her face. Hahah...that is one very clear memory etched in my mind. And never have I been bullied since. And to relate all those other things that we do to stand up for each other , is just countless.

So you see, my siblings and I have been very close since childhood. Never mind the biggest quarrels and arguments, the door slamming and the slapping, we are still, very much close to one another. This is something we take pride in, something that our parents have instilled in us. And never have we once faltered or compromised our values. We have stayed by it since we were little, and hopefully, it will stay with us the rest of our lives.

Weekend was super packed wif work, wedding invites and .. movie date! Yup, caught the 6th instalment of Harry Potter.

I was, as many would agree, very disappointed with it. David Yates banked into the romances of the teens in this instalment, and so little of the revelation on who the Half-blood prince actually is. How he got his name, and the background of it. 'You want to turn my own spell on me? I am the Half-Blood prince.' That's it. Done. Sure, the bits of humour were likable, but that is all there is to it. I really hope Alfonso Cuaron of Prisoner of Azkaban directs the last two.

Tho I really think Ginny Weasley is getting gorgeous..

Meanwhile, I'm kinda wacked for tomorrow's appointment. Hope everything turns out to be fine ...

Since young, I've been spoilt by my parents.

No, not in terms of materials and money, we are taught that we have to earn our own keep.

It's in the form of FOOD.

Yup, my parents didn't mind spending money bringing us to nice places to eat. Our then favourite restaurant was the longtime defunct Ramayana Restaurant at the old Plaza Singapura.

And Ibu would slog the whole day in the kitchen just to have hot delicious meals on the table everyday. And boy, many would testify to her delicious cooking!

Being the undomestic me, I would cringe at the thought of having to go to the wet market with her, coz I didn't like getting my slippers sloshed. But it was always, nevertheless, fun to know types of fishes and vegetable, as it turns out to be an educational trip! The most I would do in the kitchen is to help her cut up the onions, chillies and other condiments, and I would leave the cutting and the cleaning of the fish and chicken to her.

Even after being a wife, I admit, I still don't know two hoots about cooking besides the usual sunny side up, fried rice and maggi mee. When Ibu left to accompany Dad in Dubai, I felt lost, because it has always been her who has been managing so much around the house. Now that I'm the one mostly at home, I have been slowly grasping the art of domestic upkeeping. Yes, I describe it as an art because it isn't as simple as it looks. There is the time allocation of stuffs to do, and working shift hours helps alot when the crowds at post offices and supermarkets are much less. And then there is the maintenance and budgeting and the cooking itself. How much can one survive on takeouts right?

So I've started getting recipes from Ibu, smsing her now and then for simple recipes. And I've started comparing prices of shopping from the various major supermarkets. I'm kinda starting to like going to the wet market coz I practically can get everything there - plus, make my wallet go lighter much slower.

To sum it up, I'm learning the ropes of being a homemaker. One teeny weeny step at a time. I'm not perfect, but I'm definitely trying my best.

Better grasp new things than grouch about the world being against u.. ;)

She came taking us by surprise, when I came back from the appliances shopping and she was hiding behind the door, coz she was missing us so much, and we missed her more! Brought back lots of chocolates, kurma and perfumes. And more to come by cargo. Fuh!

Satiated her craving for local food, she satiated our craving for her cooking, tho in the form of simple laksa goreng and lauk celok!

So she goes again, but she'll be back, with Baba in tow and for good!

The 2nd literary work by Vikas Swarup of Q&A aka Slumdog Millionaire fame proves to be yet another engaging plot.

The murder of a famous but notorious industrialist Vicky Rai has six suspects, all eccentric and from different backgrounds, rounded up as they were all found to be in possession of a gun which was the murder weapon. Then comes the plot twists and motives - how the 6 ended up as suspects, whodunnit, and why.

Once again, Vikas Swarup managed to capture the essence of the slums of India, the political fights and controversies that is carefully hidden out of the public eyes, and, how the rich and powerful always get away with their crimes. It seems as if Swarup is trying to tell the world what the country is all about.

If you liked Slumdog Millionaire, you will like this one too.

My weekend at Sengkang was a blast, wif the usual great company, albeit only sleeping for a few hours.. not always do I get a Sunday off! So off we went to the new swimming complex at Sengkang Stadium.

Nighttime was spent swooning over Nuradinie Imelda. She's the cutest and most adorable baby in my list now..

To those enquiring minds out there, yes, I am waiting to be blessed with a baby of my own too.. I'm leaving it all to Him to decide when..

I was observing my current understudy of two days working, and realised that he stamps passports with his left hand.

I asked, 'You lefthander eh?'

Him: 'Hmm..yup...but, I write with my right hand.'

Me: 'Huh? How can that be when you claim to be a lefthander?'

Him: 'Aaahh...I kan rare species..haha!'

So apparently, this dude here is what is termed as 'ambidextrous', which means he writes with his right hand, but does most other things with his left, which is also what he calls the 'master' hand. I thought it was pretty interesting as he is so far the only person I've met who is such.

And so, some of us tested our left hands to see if we could write with it.

With disastrous results of course!

It was a great book-to-movie attempt. It was easy to comprehend, even my hubby who hasn't read the book, understood it fully, as it follows the book quite well. And even the author, who has a hand at co-producing, isn't complaining. It's great entertainment, at times controversial, but nevertheless, it was a great one in my opinion.

So far, I'm only disappointed with Slumdog Millionaire, not so much as it's great cinematography and catchy soundtracks, even the talented actors were a delight to watch, but I'm just disappointed by how much Salim's character changed from the book. Then again, Jai Ho is making quite a wave on MTV and the radio stations now, so it's a huge success.

Waiting for the wizards come this July.. ;)

Spent time at the sister's place over at Sengkang proves to be fun and hours of discovering new stuffs.

We started off watching Abg Izzat's Bali trip DVD. And boy, does it seem alot of fun! It's my perfect kinda vacation - sun, sand, sea, nightlife. Just makes me soo excited and really looking forward to the trip, which, will be made in conjunction with many special occasions.. I really hope no one backs out from the trip as they are all gerek kakis!

And then it was Twilight devotee time, with me and sis glueing our eyes on the tv watching my special edition DVD, and of course, we feasted our eyes on even the special features.

Later in the night, Abg Izzat and Abg Azri came with their partners cum my Dkane gals, and we chatted - till wee hours in the morning. There was so much that was covered - from discussing the trip, to olde gangsta days, religion, movies and whatnots. At 7am the next morning, sis even made us breakfast before we finally snoozed...

And then that night, the 4 of us went into productive mode discussing some new stuffs we decided to venture on. Oh, alot was discussed, but nothing is finalised yet. Hopefully it will materialise, real soon...

I really TREASURE the times with the LOVEs... ;)

An interesting and indeed mind-boggling fact I ran into while surfing the net for the latest books on Amazon.

But this might only make sense to fans of the Harry Potter novels and movies.

So if ur not a fan, navigate away from this page now aite.

In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the name Nicholas Flamel was mentioned as the creator of the Sorcerer's Stone.

Now, apparently, this certain Nicholas Flamel is NOT a fictitious character. And so is the sorcerer's stone. And that Nicholas Flamel is the creator of this stone that is an elixir to immortality, and he is believed to be still alive till today.

It's a long story as to how exactly he created this stone, so his tale has been scripted into a 6-part series novel by Michael Scott, which, I believe, has not been released in SG yet.

I'm so looking forward to read these novels.

This is a a movie that you have to catch in the theatres to enjoy it to the maximum. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for dolby surround.

And yes, I have to admit I caught this majorly coz of Hugh Jackman.

Which other movie can I feast on those chiselled charms and, get this, him in the buff? ;)

The plot is easy to understand, even to people like me who don't follow the comics. And the much-hyped Gambit finally makes an appearance after 4 movies, and Taylor Kitcsh did justice to the character. The last time I saw Liev Schreiber was in a comedic role as a crazed scientist looking for a time portal opposite Hugh in Kate and Leopold, and he proves to be versatile as the fierce Sabretooth.

Do catch this if u're in the mood for some action. Or some eye candy in the form of hard muscles. ;)

The day was spent celebrating two adorable boys' birthday.

The first being a colleague's 2 year old son, Iqram Shabir aka Bintang (that's what he will reply when asked what his name is), at Downtown East. Theme - Barney.

And then it was at Sakura Orchard to celebrate dear Azyrfan's 5th! He's a big and handsome boy already!

First birthday cake for my 26th was presented to me by the ladies at work. Really sweet of them!

And the 2nd was a gorgeous one from Hubby!

And so the celebrations was a day belated due to duties, but nevertheless, it was fab! Starting off with fine dining atop Mount Faber at The Black Opal, courtesy of Hubby.

And then it was a night out with the gals!

And then it was off to ChinaOne for some chill out, soccer (Liverpool won again!), and great music.

I find myself going to the supermarket more often these days. Since Mom hasn't been around, Hubby and I will make our way to NTUC Xtra by Jurong Point very often, with the intention to buy bread and fabric softener, but end up with groceries amounting to 3 digits. In the past, you'll never catch me looking at kitchen appliances, but now, I go gaga over the current new model of Moulimex multi-purpose blender.

But no, I bought a much cheaper Philips blender to replace the much-used one instead, coz Mom have been a faithful follower of that brand of blender since forever.

I love going grocery shopping with Hubby for the fact that, we never fail to behave like little kids playing push-the-trolley and sharing jokes in the little things that we are purchasing. Like what happened just now, while choosing a pack of instant noodles, Hubby wanted to buy a certain brand of mee goreng type, coz he says it 'tastes like mee goreng'. When I heard that, I gave him my most awed expression and said, 'Wow, that's amazing..' And then he started to tickle and poke me and we behave like small kids again.

Being with Hubby has made me realise that problems are only major if we make them major. He has taught me to relish doing little things together, even if they are mundane daily things like grocery shopping, or just dinner at some hawker food centre. He has taught me that relationships are about standing up for and with each other, and not defaming, insulting and airing each others' flaws to the public eye. It's also not about being calculative and about who earns more to dominate respect, but about sharing and giving, and supporting when the other is down without expecting anything in return.

Like they always say, 'Love does not consist of looking at each other, but looking at the same direction.'

There is a growing trend of movies adapted from novels. Seems like there are bucketfuls of films based on novels that have been released since last year. Nights in Rodanthe, Twilight, Slumdog Millionaire, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the most current being Confessions of a Shopaholic.

I'm currently reading a book originally written by a Swedish writer, titled 'Let the Right One In'. It's a story of a boy who is a victim of bully in a rundown estate, and befriends a little girl who lives next door. The catch - she's really a 200 year-old vampire, condemned to live on a diet of fresh blood. And how they came to depend on one another for life itself. Recently, a major motion picture of it was released in Swedish which I've yet to catch. And it has received good reviews, and already there are rumours of a remake.

Not exactly your 'Twilight' material, but like I mentioned, I have this thing for vampires since 'Interview With the Vampire'.

Being in the subject of vampires, just wanna share a video of a little imitation of Sadako which I did for a forfeit about 3 years ago.

So, Friday the 13th is over.

I don't want to believe in that crazy stuff over it, but somehow I find it too convenient to just pass it off as coincidence.

See, last year while on duty, I remembered there were some bad incidents that left me grouchy that whole day.

And it's the same again this year. Running around trying my best to expedite things while the system goes pfft. For a whole an hour and a half. Thankfully, they didn't get too rowdy, gotta give credit coz usually they will go all chaotic over the slightest little thing. And yes, my mood went awry yesterday, so most of the time I just shut up as opening my mouth was sure to cause some unwanted complications. Though I did manage to give someone the 'I-don't-wanna-entertain-you' look that left him feeling guilty.

On a happier note, I'm turning older in less than a month's time! Cue overjoy, but I think I'm actually happy about turning older. I guess with age, you feel you have grown wiser and more mature, and this will be my first birthday as a wife. Still having those 'first' moments even after 7 months. Plus, I'm already thinking of what to wear for a certain event happening a few days after I turn 26. Zirca baby? ;)

Yeah, still kiddy-faced after a quarter of a decade. Beats looking older than you actually are isn't it? =)

The story begins when we were all fresh into secondary school at age 13. We met, but somehow, we never got so close. Till a recent meet up, we actually find that we have grown towards the same direction, with similar principles and similar perspectives.

My timeout session with my gals at Sentosa - Siloso Beach Resort. Where we reminisced about school days, exchange our most intimate thoughts, share perspectives of life, catch up on the lost years. It was simply surreal.

I don't need many friends, and I don't have to top the popularity poll, coz I'm contented enough to have a few who are genuine and true.
