Six months into my wedding, I still have friends enquiring about where I engage my wedding stuff and whatnots from, hence this entry which might come in handy for brides and grooms to be, which is just a little sharing of my experience preparing for my wedding. And, erm, yes, I did it all by myself, with help from family, and no wedding planner was engaged, as of a rumour by a certain party.
First up, the popular question, who did I engage as my photo/videographer?
Capturing Moments Wedding, or CM Weddings for short, was my official wedding videographer and photographer. A team of friends, they were very friendly and very accomodating to our needs, and they captured the events very beautifully.

For a sample of my wedding video and pics, do click on nadiy.multiply.com. Alternatively, you may visit their website at cmweddings.multiply.com.
Secondly, who did my 3-tier fountain wedding cake? (Yes, all 3 tiers are edible chocolate fudge cakes, no dummies!)

The design was inspired from a cake I saw in Brides magazine, and I had the expertise of Kak Sue to improvise it for me. 2 weeks before my wedding, she asked if I wanted to add the fountain to the cake, as it had just arrived fresh from the U.S. So of course I gladly agreed to her suggestion, and I loved the amazing turn out. Kak Sue does all kinds of cakes, and she'll gladly offer you advice on colour combi and such. Plus, she's super friendly and great to work with. Third, just what is the concept of my decor?

Oh, u mean the hanging leaves and rambutans and all the tropical fruits by the corners?
It's actually an improvised kampung concept of the Boyanese community which had been done decades before this. Usually, the leaves covers 4 points and will be called a
gelanggang, a stage for the performers to perform for the day's king and queen. My wedding is the first of its kind to have them actually hanging above the dais. These are done by uncles and cousins the night before the wedding.
Sis told me that the best part of a wedding are the preparations itself, and she was right. I relished in every bit of the preparation, from the recceing, the surveying, the conceptualising and the finalising of every bit of detail was an incredible experience for me. Just a little piece of tip for the bride/groom to be - not all big names will give you the services they promised. Sometimes, unknown or less popular names in the business gives you a more personalised and greater satisfaction than the industry giants. Plus, you will be able to save on unnecessary expenses, and probably use the excess cash for a better honeymoon!
So, for those about to
kpak bing bing, hope this little entry of mine is somewhat useful for your recceing purposes. Hope you will have as much fun as I did!
And she waves goodbye...
