I worked in an office-based job for slightly more than 2 years after I graduated.

And in that two years, I have never felt like I belonged. I never get to do what I'm good at, and all I did was check emails and run errrands for big shots who never even as take a glance at their subordinates. This particular company I worked for had a group evaluation, and all they could evaluate on me was, 'Her attire is not appropriate for the office.' Apparently, only the well-dressed were given accolades in this certain logistics company (which wasn't even an MNC), which I never understood. I mean, its not as if they were giving me big money to buy pretty clothes in the first place.

So I made a career switch, and I have never looked back since.

Yeah, I do get sarcastic comments and not so pleasant remarks from people. Some went 'tsk, tsk'ing after knowing that I work shift hours. Well, I might not be in this the whole of my life, but I'm confident enough to say that I'm comfortable in what I do now. I get to join the media resource club, I get to host the promotion ceremony, I get to represent the department in the recent career fair, and, just a few hours ago, I received this,

I get to dabble in things I like alongside my everyday duties. It's these small things that make my job a little more interesting. Not to mention, everyday is a challenge to me, though it seems mundane to most. At the very least, I know I'm somewhat appreciated being where I am.

Oh, and having a bunch of great colleagues definitely helps too.

And she waves goodbye...
