A few dear friends have said something like these to me, 'You have a pure heart', or 'You are really a nice girl', or 'You are rare - one in a million.'

Sorry if these makes u wanna throw up like right now, but these are the words that I've been getting of late. Of course, you definitely will feel good when someone says these to you, like u will suddenly feel your in the air, especially for me because I've also been told that I have a 'stuck-up-face-u-wanna-slap' for like, forever. But for me, that 'up-in'the-air' feeling only lasts but for a second. Being somewhat a pessimist, I will check in back to ground zero almost immediately. Compliments are good, but being square me, I never expect praises for whatever I do. Somehow, negative thoughts come flooding in.

Is being plain nice a merit, or a flaw? Do nice girls finish last, do nice girls never go up the corporate ladder, do nice girls get kicked around like a ball, do nice girls stay in the rut and never get noticed? Do nice girls get judged for wanting something in return just by being nice by nature? Well, I would say yes to some of these from my personal experience, some more painful than others. I guess there are some people who just won't appreciate what I try to do, but then again like I said, I never really bother for reciprocation. I believe I will be 'repaid' in many other ways than one.

To nice girls out there, stay nice! You'll never know when someone will be moved by you.

And she waves goodbye...
